Meet the Victa Family – Jon Norman

Here at Victa Railfreight we’re a close-knit team and we love to celebrate each individual’s contribution to our work as a whole. That’s why we’re delighted to be able to introduce you to some of the Victa family. Today the spotlight is on…

Jon Norman

Jon is our Operational Support Specialist. He has a vast amount of experience working on the railway and is always happy to guide and mentor our younger team members.

Jon began his railway career with British Rail in 1989 when he was just 16 years old. During his first two years of training he was introduced to many parts of the rail industry, including working on the mainline, as a driver operator, in buffet cars, in signal boxes and as a fitter’s mate.

Fast forward thirty-four years and Jon continues to play a pivotal role for us at Victa Railfreight, including his work with us on our contract with Cemex at Dove Holes and also through our work with Tarmac at Mountsorrel.

A highly versatile and integral member of the Victa family, as well as ensuring weekly roster compliance & fatigue monitoring is kept up to date, Jon is also a qualified assessor and competent to drive a range of traction when called upon.

Jon says: “I’m railway mad through and through. I especially love working with freight and the variety of roles that brings with it. Every customer has different needs and I’m very proud of the fact that the expertise and experience within our team at Victa Railfreight enables us to provide these services to the highest standards.”
