We were delighted to host last week’s Freight End User Forum in Birmingham in conjunction with Network Rail and The Rail Freight Group. The event brought together more than 40 stakeholders, including freight customers, rail facility owners, port and terminal operators, and wagon owners and maintainers, to discuss current rail safety issues from an end-user viewpoint.
With interactive discussions the forum provided networking opportunities and enabled guests to engage with end users on key industry initiatives to gather their views and support. Healthy discussions focused on current safety issues from a rail end-user perspective, and we also heard from Victa Railfreight’s Matt Green and Rob McKitterick on the key topics arising from Victa’s extensive range of support services, including Rail Freight Terminal Management.
Representatives from Network Rail, the Rail Safety and Standards Board, and the Freight Safe Programme presented on key industry developments in safety and how the FEU community can engage with and support these initiatives.
Our thanks to Maggie Simpson (RFG) and guest speakers Tim Shakerley (Freight Safe Programme), Rob Williamson, and Steve Rhymes (Network Rail) for their valuable input on the day.
